SEQUIM — BlockFest, an interactive learning experience for adults and their children between the ages of one and eight, is returning to Sequim.
The free, one-hour program will take place at Sequim Community School, 220 W. Alder St., at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25.
BlockFest uses blocks to help children develop early math, science and literacy skills.
Children will use their imaginations, muscles, problem-solving skills and curiosity to learn.
Research shows that early learning programs, such as BlockFest, help prepare children for success in school and life.
The BlockFest program uses specially trained facilitators at each station to assist adults and children in learning important development skills.
Adults will receive a free book that will help parents and caregivers to become familiar with fun ways to support and enhance their child’s play with blocks.
Information will also be provided on what the children are learning as they play.
Different types of blocks will be used for the different age groups.
No registration is required.
A parent, guardian or adult must accompany child at all times.
