SEQUIM — A nutritional expert will explore “Do You Know What You Are Eating?” at a free wellness forum sponsored by Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic on Wednesday, March 10.
Lesia McNabb, who was a registered dietician for 28 years, will speak at 2 p.m. in the Olympic Medical Services building at 840 N. Fifth Ave.
During the 90-minute presentation, she will discuss how food and beverages affect the body; the fat, carbohydrates and fiber content in foods; and how to make healthier choices as alternatives to eating at fast-food restaurants.
Diabetes, heart disease, obesity and sugar addiction also will be addressed.
Participants are encouraged to bring food labels for her to review.
As a follow-up, McNabb will lead a free tour of a local supermarket on March 17. Reservations are required.
McNabb holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Eastern State University and a master’s degree in foods and nutrition from Seattle Pacific University.
The meeting place is a new location for the wellness forums, said Dorothea Hover-Kramer, wellness committee chairwoman and clinic board member.
She said the venue “was able to serve over 50 people at our February forum, and we hope to attract many more in our community who are interested in their health and well-being.”
The monthly Wellness Forums are sponsored by WOW!
