SEQUIM — The Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., will hold a book discussion of The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18.
The Namesake takes the Ganguli family from a tradition-bound life in Calcutta through their transformation into Americans in Cambridge, Mass.
When their son, Gogol, is born, the task of naming him betrays their hope of respecting old ways in a new world.
Copies of the book can be borrowed from the library.
At the meeting, reading selections for future months will be discussed.
Preregistration is not required and drop-ins are welcome.
