SEQUIM — The Olympic Orchard Society will hold its annual classroom training and grafting workshop at McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road, at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 13.
The program will be held instead of the society’s monthly meeting.
The society will teach how to graft using the Owens Square Graft.
Written instructions will be provided.
Participants should bring a pruning tool for grafting.
Fruit scions, which are detached shoots or twigs with buds, have been selected and include apples, pears and plums.
They will be provided, along with rootstock and other grafting supplies.
There is no charge to attend and participate in this workshop.
There will be a $6 fee for participants to graft and take home a tree, or an $11 fee if an experienced grafter grafts the tree for participants.
