SEQUIM — Clallam Conservation District officials are currently accepting reservations for free workshops on landscaping with native plants.
A one-hour workshop will be held in conjunction with the Dungeness River Festival at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
The workshop will include a short and easy walk on level ground around the park.
Another workshop will be held at the Dungeness Recreation Area, 554 Voice of America Road, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The workshop at the Dungeness Recreation Area involves three hours of walking on about two miles of trails near the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge.
Participants will learn about more than 25 native trees and shrubs.
Cultural requirements, landscaping values, and environmental and wildlife habitat benefits of each species will be discussed.
Tips on how to plan and develop a natural landscape will be offered.
Due to space limitations reservations are required for both workshops.
