Irrigation logo design contest

SEQUIM — The contest to design the logo for the 2011 Sequim Irrigation Festival is beginning.
The concept for the festival will be “One Hundred and Sweet Sixteen.”
This concept will be carried out in collectible festival lapel pins, posters, float design, programs, advertising, the royalty pageant, the festival events and more.
A carousel combined with the sweetness of life will be used to convey the 2011 theme.
Contest rules are:
<<< Entrants for the festival pin contest must live in Clallam or Jefferson counties and may be of any age.
<<< Irrigation Festival Committee Board members are not eligible to enter the contest.
<<< Art designs may be done in any media, but must be submitted on white paper.
<<< Design should be on a no larger than 8½-inch by 11-inch sheet of white paper, but it may be smaller.
<<< Design must be original and created in 2010.
<<< Winners will be asked to sign a paper attesting to originality and releasing all rights for use of the design for the 2011 Irrigation Festival.
<<< Entries for the festival logo design must be postmarked by Aug. 27.
No e-mail or hand-delivered entries will be accepted.
<<< Entries must have the designer’s name, address, phone number and e-mail address (if available) on the back of each entry.
<<< You may submit as many entries as you wish, but each entry must be submitted in a separate mailing envelope.
All applications will be considered.
<<< Judges’ decisions will be final and decisions will be made by Sept. 17.
<<< Art work submitted will not be returned unless a self-addressed stamped envelope is supplied along with the entry.
Festival organizers are not responsible for entries lost in mail.
Winning artwork will be retained by judges.

<<< Two T-shirts and two sweatshirts with the design on it.
<<< A ride in the Saturday, May 14 Irrigation Festival Grand Parade.

<<< Dinner for two people to the Irrigation Festival Kick-off Dinner.
<<< Tickets for two people to the Irrigation Festival Crazy Daze Breakfast.
<<< Introduction and recognition at all the festival events.
