SEQUIM — A meeting to discuss the National Alzheimer’s Project Act will be held at the Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St., from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.
A National Alzheimer’s Project Act bill, signed by President Barack Obama in January, will lead to establishment of a National Alzheimer’s Project in the Department of Health and Human Services.
The project will coordinate the country’s approach to research, treatment and caregiving.
The participation and input of individuals living with the disease, their families, community leaders, health care providers and the research community will be central in creating an effective, results-driven federally coordinated strategy.
The event will be presented by the Alzheimer’s Association’s Western and Central Washington State chapter.
