Calling all shutterbugs … it is time to get those digital cameras out to capture gorgeous agricultural scenes in the Sequim area.
Sequim This Week’s “Celebrating Sequim Farms Photo Contest,” sponsored by Nash’s Organic Produce and Hardy’s Market, encourages people to enter their best images of farms, animals, fresh-from-the-field vegetables, fruits on the vine, farmers at work and other agricultural scenes in the Dungeness Valley.
“We are asking our readers to capture the beauty and rich agricultural heritage of the Dungeness Valley,” said Susan Stoneman, Sequim This Week’s interim advertising director.
“The three photographers who receive the most votes will receive delicious homegrown vegetables, fruits and grains generously donated to the contest by Nash’s Organic Produce.”
In addition, the three winning photographs will be published in Sequim This Week on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Sequim This Week will start accepting contest entries Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Entries must be submitted by 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14.
Entries must be made at www.sequimthisweek.com — visit the homepage, then click on the “Celebrating Sequim Farms Photo Contest” box on the right side of the page and follow the instructions.
If your image features a person, supply the first and last name of the person in the photograph. Tell us which farm or other location the image was taken at.
It’s free to enter.
People who want to share photos simply need to register, then post their “best farm” photos on our website — and then they and others can vote once per day during the voting period, Stoneman said.
People can enter up to four photos.
The voting period runs from 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 to noon Wednesday, Sept. 21.
To view entries as they are posted, visit www.sequimthisweek.com, click on the “Celebrating Sequim Farms Photo Contest” box, then “View Entries.”
