Printmakers from across the North Olympic Peninsula are expressing their creative talents at the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley in September.
The open-entry exhibit “Expressions in Printmaking” opened Tuesday, Aug. 30 and features the original artwork of area artists whose printmaking techniques include woodcuts, linocuts, etching, drypoint, lithography, screen printing, monotype, mezzotint, aquatint and collagraph.
An artists’ reception celebrating the show, which is part of the First Friday Art Walk Sequim, will be held at the museum’s exhibit center, 175 W. Cedar St., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2.
“Expressions in Printmaking” runs through Sept. 24.
Printmaking is defined as the ability to reproduce an image from a raised image that has been carved into or placed on any surface by applying a material that will transfer that image through applying pressure that will accept the reproducing material.
The museum’s summer hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through most Sundays.
The museum is closed Mondays and the last Sunday each month.
Admission is a suggested donation of $2 for adults, children enter for free.
