SEQUIM — The Olympic Orchard Society of Clallam County will hold its biannual Fall Fruit Show at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.
There will be more than 20 different varieties of apples and pears grown in Clallam County for attendees to view and taste.
People can learn how to grow and care for fruit trees and berries.
Attendees are encouraged to bring in their mystery apples for identification by local experts.
There will be a limited number of grafted apple and pear trees for sale.
Fresh apple crisp will be sold.
The event will also include raffles, door prizes and informational tables staffed by society members and Master Gardeners answering questions about growing fruit trees on the North Olympic Peninsula, mason bee displays and more.
Admission is $3 per person and $5 for two people or a family. Olympic Orchard Society members enter for free.
Olympic Orchard Society, a Western Cascade Fruit Society chapter, promotes interest in growing fruit or nut bearing trees and plants in Clallam County.
The organization brings together orchardists and backyard growers who support each other and encourage propagation of desirable fruit and nut varieties suited to the local climate. The group sponsors fruit shows, orchard tours, field trips, meetings, seminars, demonstrations, workshops and publications.
